Day 1
Hop on the CalMac ferry that leaves hourly from Tayinloan, Kintyre. Gigha is small with single track roads, so you can choose to leave behind your car if you can.
Check into your accommodation, this could be one of Gigha’s lovely self-catering or B&B’s, or our new camp & motorhome site - booking ahead is strongly advised!
The best way to get a feel for the island is to hire a bike from the activity centre and explore using the extensive path network.
Spend the day learning about Gigha’s culture and history, and taking in the amazing scenery. Or even better, why not join the Rangers guided walk and find out even more about Gigha’s rich heritage.
Finish the evening off with a delicious seafood takeaway from the Nook.
Day 2
Kick off your second day by heading to the famous Achamore Gardens! You could easily spend hours here exploring the Gardens and taking in the sight from the hidden viewpoint.
The Garden is the perfect place to have a picnic full of local goodies available from the local shop.
Then spend the afternoon visiting the new taproom and sampling the islands only brewed beer.
Finish the day off with a trip to the beach to enjoy a swim or water sports in the crystal clear waters that surround the island.
Day 3
Kicking off our third day with a round of golf. Gigha’s 9 hole course is suited to all levels of abilities, even those that have never played before! The course offers amazing views which make the experience even more enjoyable.
Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head to The Boathouse (booking strongly advised!) to enjoy a meal from the Michelin Guide recommended restaurant.
Finish the day by stargazing at the Dark Skies theatre.
Day 4
For your final full day on Gigha, kick off the day with a feed from the Wee Isle Cafe, and treat yourself to one of their homemade ice cream flavours.
Explore the neighbouring natural skincare shop before heading up to Edgelands Gallery. Find something to take home from Gigha whether that is a new moisturiser, a painting, or handmade craft, or even a sweet treat from the honesty stall.
Finish off your trip with a takeaway pizza (only available on a Monday) before packing your bags and getting ready to head home. Maybe even get up early and see a final sunrise before you leave!
